I may be slow - If these are the changes you are refering to - I just found out today that slingshots packages were changing to the new speeds and cap.

In iether case, the excel spreadsheet is now, unfortunately, out of date.

Telecom NZ just raised the speed options up to 3.5Mbit/sec

hrmm, so no further changes then. bit slow on the uptake?

RAH! - OK, so I may be stating the obvious for those people who have been on top of the news more recently than me. I am just doing the research again, as a friend asked me which was the best plan to go with....

The spreadsheet / graphs provided were a real help to reaffirming my personal choice of slingshot a few months ago, but not that useful for the more recent price plans.

Just thought I'd provide a bit of help to the souls who find the same forum link on a google search of "Broadband ISP ~compare New zealand"

Really sorry about lack of updates, the past few days were a bit tiring for me. Since the mid-semester break started I'll use the spare time to update it and leave the software project to next week (Compsys 302 project weighing 50% of total marks, have to code an instant messenger programme using python).

Now with new plans from Xtra and Ihug, take a look at xtra's 3.5m 10GB auto sense plans at the table section. It is actually possible to reach a jaw dropping $22.7k charge if you max it out to 1.1TB a month...

Imagine you are doing your social duty and you have your torrents on fully unrestricted sharing (which of course we all do, don't we) and you go away for the week, forgetting to turn off your PC.

You can easily send 40GB in a week. Under the un-capped price plans, this could (and would) be pretty painful.

Slingshot's extra data charges are now 25$ for 30GB and 40$ for 50GB.
Still the best deal at 1.25GB per dollar.

Have a look at ISPfind. It has almost all NZ broadband plans listed, searchable and sortable (the filter options are down the bottom).

You can post the link, sorry. The thing is that:

a) the domain belongs to you and there was no disclosure of this in the post
b) that make me believe it's a URL drop, which is forbidden in the Forum Usage Guidelines

It just happens that we are very strict about URL drops, because a lot of people come here and make fake posts "I just found about a website xyz", when in fact there's no "I just found out", since they own the site. This people won't come back here ever, and won't contribute to the community at all.
