A bit more happened than no followup call. They signed me up to a service other than what I'd asked for, didn't send me any equipment and were rude when I called to complain. I shouldn't have to keep calling up to get them off their arses. I shouldn't have to cling to one smart support guy with a good attitude because the customer service experience is so shockingly variable and their processes have holes big enough to drive a truck through. I should be able to reach a competent person who cares about doing a good job every time I contact Woosh. Heck, even an average person doing an average job would do.
The "We're not Telecom" slogan certainly sold me in the first place, but now I'm looking for "We're not Telecom and we're not Woosh either".

That got me going... How do you soup up a video sender. I'm playing around with 2 for a studio to transmitter link for a student radio station via 2 x parabolic antennas and need serious distance with low signal to noise ratio. Any help appreciated.

Heck, for the same price as my Woosh I could be on 3.5 M/bit DSL with iHug (or most of the other ISP's). If I could get a landline where I am I would be there!
I am staying with my Parents in the Hawkes Bay for a few days and they have 2Mbit (Soon to be 3.5) DSL, and I cannot get over how much faster and more reliable it is than Woosh.
with all the new deals other ISPs are providing, woosh is being outdone badly.
The woosh turbo service should be free, not 5 dollars extra from what you currently pay, and its only 512kb/s which isnt even that fast considering every isp now has 2mbit speeds or over.

Innovative telecommunications company Woosh Wireless today announced faster download and browsing speeds for all new and existing Woosh customers, effective 1 May.
Speeds are now up to 20 times faster than dial up across all Woosh plans. Woosh continues to deliver the lowest priced broadband offer in the market at $24.95 per month (for 200MB).
"We are continuing to develop our technology in order to provide our customers the best possible value and user experience available in the market," says Bob Smith, Woosh Wireless CEO.
In addition to faster download speeds, Woosh has increased the data caps across four of its existing plans and by not increasing their charges continues to offer New Zealand’s lowest broadband prices.
Woosh can be self installed in minutes and offers a variety of monthly broadband plans, such as Express 1, renamed Express 2 with the data cap increased from 1GB to 2GB at $39.95, and Express 3, renamed Express 5 with the data cap increased from 3GB to 5GB at $49.95.
Similarly, across the phone and broadband plans, Messenger now features an increased data cap from 1GB to 2GB at $59.95 and Connect has an increased data cap from 3GB to 5GB at $69.95. Woosh’s Contact plan is the lowest priced phone and broadband bundle in the market at $49.00.
Perhaps a firmware upgrade is required to take advantage of the higher speeds? I'll be anxious to test my connection when I get home tonight, since it's been some time since I've upgraded the firmware on my Woosh modem.

Sounds like they may have removed speed restrictions all togeather and are just allowing whatever the cell site/conditions etc can give?
I notice on the Woosh site the download speed in not expressed ANYWHERE as an actual figure, but instead as "Up to 20 times faster than dial-up". Sounds to me like they are really trying to cover their asses. (Heck, by 'Dial Up' they could mean 14.4K)
