Someone asked if Xtra would charge for allowing "port 25 access", or require customers to pay a monthly fee for a static IP, so I checked.

Xtra says there will be no charge, so that's something.

Lovely. Hadn't heard about that one yet. Will definitely be interesting to see if they'll still allow connections from the cdma/evdo ip range.

Also going to be damn annoying. Think I'll definitely be on the phone to get our ip allowed smtp out. Being able to telnet to smtp servers and send emails directly to the smtp server does make testing alot easier.

That plus being able to fall back to direct smtp delivery when XTRA's email server decides to fall over (anyone remember a couple of months back?)...

Jp.

There will be no impact for CDMA customers.
