& Your punctuation etc is crapTongue out Btw, the reason it's happening has already been said.

Yes, that's some pretty bad punctuation there, I don't think you need to do caps on every single first letter of a word (and maybe the 2nd letter in some cases)

I was just putting it out there, since if this was local machine caching then the speeds would be much faster than showen here, it will be going over 100mbit since most HDD's do exceed this, it really does look like ISP caching to me which is why John's suggestion to clear the cache didn't work.

I would love it if ISP's could give you a "Opt Out" button to caching, I have run into quite a few problems with Vodafone's cache + absolutely hated Telstra Clear's broken cache. People argue saying it does increase web performance but for a guy like me who wants direct access to the internet without putting up with extra latency and my ISP deciding to cache pages I am working on it can make it a handy feature.

Anyway, I was going off topic there a bit, I will be quiet now.

johnr: Teleocm must have connected you to one of those new FFDSL 2++ cabinets

He Must Be On A Firbe Cabinet Or He's On VDSL2+ In Beta Mode Or Something Cause I Dont think Telecom Released There Vdsl2+ Yet

Unless if you are one of those "Special" people with 100mbit Cable from Telstra you will not experience this sort of speed on residential ADSL / VDSL

It's just the cache in his browser, move along, nothing to see here. I would be interested to find out what browser the OP is using though, since this does indeed seem to be happening more and more. If the OP could try a different browser (Google Chrome or Firefox)?

Otherwise, since this has so far happened on Slingshot, Vodafone & Telecom I would say that it could have something to do with their transparent proxies. If the proxy is loading the speedtest before your browser it would cause these types of results, since the proxy can not "Upload" on your behalf that's why the upload speeds all sit about the same. I can not recreate these speedtests on Vodafone using either Google Chrome or Firefox.

I even did the test in IE6, since this should be the browser that would normally bug out and cause something absurd to happen like this, but no go.

VDSL can get you 80mbps down, 70mbps up providing you are v close to the cabinet/exchange.

NZ VDSL is only going to run at 30mbit at first, plus not any standard ADSL2+ Modem will do it, you do indeed need a special modem.
