sbiddle:kelly2626: u won't need a sky decoder box. telecom has their own decoder boxes. it'll be an XTRA service. It will be available when telecom upgrade their network to 24Mbps. they are working on it. They'll have nto REMOVE the NATIONAL data caps because TV ovcer broadband will use alot more than 10GB a month. Can't wait for FREE national data.
Who said anything about free national data for everybody? They can just set an option for zero rating in their billing system for fixed IP addresses which would mean that data from a certain IP range would be billed differently to your usual usage.
It would make more sense to me to use a VC on the ADSL to have differnet CoS per service such as streaming media or Broadband and multicast to users. This would also allow customers to retain their existing ISP's if they so wished. COMCOM is already giving Telecom the shadey look and if they introduce Sky via ADSL 2+ but said you needed to have an Xtra connection this wouldnt go down well. if you could use your existing ISP then this would require some sort of peering on Telecoms part for this service to make this work and we know their stance on that.
