SilentOne: I'm fairly sure that members of the board or major share holders would have clauses that they have to sign-off before anyone could take over the controlling share of Telecom....

I think it goes further than that. I can recall that the government has to approve any major change of ownership...Just another regulation.

It's a bit like a jigsaw really isn't it.

I note that the chairman of the board is being replaced.

Let's assume that my retoric is true for a second...

If my mates and I were planning on making these changes then I would have stacked the cards a long while back.

Ok, we've seen an Ace dealt, we know Helen has one in her pack. who else needs one?

What needs to happen next for my mates and I to get our phone company back in our own hands so we can make it do more than just over charge and under supply for out dated service?

Cheers Don

I assume you don't want to go back to the days of it taking weeks to get a phone activated? I really don't think you understand how much money it costs to run a telecommunications company. You and your mates would actually be better off starting your own telecommunications company by taking advantage of LLU.

As a suggestion you could call it MonkeyTel

It takes weeks now.  What's the difference?

You're quite right about that.  I don't know what it costs to run one.

However based on the profit that Telecom continue to return every year, I guess that it doesn't cost that much at all in relitive terms.

I wouldn't start a telephone company.  I'd start an IP based company...  oh hold on, I already did that.

ULL may have benefits, however I suspect that the barriers Telecom put in place to get access to it will make it uncompetitive to use in the kind of environment I choose to work in.

MonkeyIP might be a much beter idea, or even beter...

Money Broadband

Thanks for your suggestions.

Cheers Don
