Up4It: I'm new here... but just a quick offtopic point. Xtra ain't "Broadband"

Whats "aint Broadband" about 500kbps up and faster than that down?????????

Have you managed to redefine the global standards for broadband? Id like access to that kind of power for some changes of my own...

hullo.  512 k?

10 Mbps Up.  As the CityInk T-Shirt says - you need at least 10 Mbps to be broadminded.  Up and Down.  I think the t-shirt now reads "you need at least 10 Gbps"

Try uploading 300 photos at 8MP, and tell me your 512 is broadband. ;)

Anyways.  This was off topic.  Maybe.  we were talking about upstream video.  last time I streamed HDV out - it was using about 13 Mbps.  Can't do that on xtra "broadband".  And that was to a single user....

As per google define: broadband ---
Broadband comes from the words "broad bandwidth" and is used to describe a high-capacity, two-way link between an end user and access network suppliers capable of supporting full-motion, interactive video applications.

Appreciate all the advice. Suspect Skype for Mac will be our best option. Meantime we are using AIM and ICHAT. It all works OK - but the video image on the PC is disappointly small only about 45mm x 45mm. The Mac shows a full screen display- which is great!
