1080p: Does anyone know if Chorus have a map or spreadsheet available for their intended install dates for regions around Wellington?

I am hoping it will be similar to their cabinet upgrade process although likely to move much more slowly.

This was asked by providers at the recent Telecom briefing, but Telecom seemed to just not understand the question when asked by industry ISPs in the room.

So I very much doubt that you'll find a straight answer to a question they didn't even understand, any time soon.

STINMH - Sorry this is not much help.

There are details available, but because nothing is confirmed yet, nothing is public.

It's safe to say however that most residential areas of Wellington won't see any activity for another 3-4 years, remembering that the focus of UFB over the next 5 years is not residential. Some parts of the country will see large scale residential rollouts within this period, but many will not.

The best you get right now is http://www.chorus.co.nz/ch-ournetwork which has year 1 zones marked out

I just received a letter / flyer in my mailbox from Chorus detailing plans for the deployment of UFB in my area.

The letter asks ffor our vehicles to be off the road during 'contruction' which is expected to be between 1st November and 20th January.

It also says that when this is completed all houses in my area (Churton Park -Wellington) will have fibre available at each properties boundary.

My question is: even though the infrastructure will be in place by the end of January, will there be an ISP's offering a UFB service?

And has any others areas received such letters?

It doesn't seem like GPON UFB is available yet to any ISP..... Unless they do it as part of the brightspark thing?

Just a guess, but you'd probably be able to at least sign up with WorldxChange.
