What is the model of router you are using? Does it make any difference if you restart the router?

After that, probably not DNS but try using google public dns just for the gmail upload test:

http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/

Don't forget to change it back after the test or you may create other problems...

How can you be sure it's a DNS issue? If you can access the site, it means you are resolving it...
