Amazing how much 3db of SNR makes.

That said, 28/10 in Waiheke is better than the 14/1 ADSL I was getting last week in Howick, and everything else about the place we live is, well, ideal. So...

the snr doesnt make the big difference, although it would help a tad.

It's the attenuation which does, right? No idea where I can find that (and any other stats) on the Vigor130... :(

attenuation directly relates to distance, and thats the biggest factor. over distance, the higher frequencys dont travel far, thus a drop in speed.

DLM promotion overnight, and a bit more sync speed; pretty much as per normal:

Interesting to note that I'm now pretty much back at my pre-DLM reset sync speed.

that is very interesting indeed.

something i have been tempted to do on my line, if it wasnt for that 17a profile!

so, after about 45 days uptime on 60/10 with 0.25CRMPM  DLM decided it wanted to stick its fingers into my pie..

hoping the errors will settle back down again, but it looks like there was some sort of large spike for no apparent reason, and it resynced.

one of thoses what the hell are you doing DLM moments.. interesting thing though, it happened RIGHT on 12.00am.. seems to align too well to not consider it being some sort of task..

well.. i think something might be hinky with my line actually...

0snr at one point there!

think ima try the old modem off for 5 mins trick.

refreshing the page, im actually watching my spectrum change heavily. this doesnt look like the normal snr graph bouncing around bug that the fritz has iver.

bitswap looks to be working overtime! wonder if with all this rain and wind if something knocking around loose...

on a slightly unrelated note, might be trying out 6.03 (i think! will have to see when i get my hands on it.) on another fritz .. interesting stuff coming!

well, woke up to see my modem resynced about 10 times today - how im still on DLM-1 im not sure...

every time a huge gust of wind comes through, snr drops to zero and errors skyrocket. any ideas? :c

so, after about 3 or 4 more disconnects (the newest brining me a close on perfect 70/10 sync! - a shame i was sitting 0 snr most of the time..)

i suspect something is wrong. fritz has been returned to stock standard 0db tweaks. and i have the best untweaked 17a speed and specturm i have seen on my line!

atlest in the first downstream patch that is.

will upload a video of my modem stats.. watching the stats page, you can see the snr going between -2 and 6db! and the bitloading graph has some pretty large changes in it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSe1EsrhSn8&feature=youtu.be SNR updating heavily on the fly...

http://youtu.be/CgVqO2iZ2UA Bitloading graph changing heavily between page refreshes (it doesnt update on jscript like the SNR graph does.)

http://youtu.be/RUjI5yWG9Rg and a second recording of the bitloading graph, as the first wasnt really all that great.

24hour line test running, with an interesting reaction from the snap csr when they looked at my line and saw 0 snr!

That's nasty man!!  How are you still connected, let alone on DLM 1!!??

In other news, another DLM upgrade this morning.  Changes seem to be happening every 48hrs:

im questioning the same thing myself. not looking forward to tomorrow when dlm signs off for the day.

got snap to put a 24hour test on the line, and the damnd thing came right - although it settled at 7SNR which ironicly was what my 8db tweak would sit at. its almost like the DSLAM just returned the line to what it normally is like...

getting 3~5CRCPM solid though.. which isnt very pleasant ...

looks like your line will settle down nicely once it hits DLM-1

moop: Just thought I'd mention for those of us connecting to Broadcom cabinets on a 7390 who found we couldn't get any DSL sync at all with the 6.03 firmware (I know I wasn't the only one, there were a few in the "DON'T UPGRADE TO 6.03" thread a while back), that the 6.04 beta firmware seems to be safe for us. 6.03 prevents me from syncing at all but I've been trying 6.04 beta from the official ftp since last night and it's working good.

Great news.. I'm one of the unlucky few to have been shunted onto a Broadcom. I had to downgrade to a 6.01 beta.. Ended up on DLM-2 due to error rates :(

Will give this a shot after easter and get a DLM reset and see what happens.
