I've just switched to VDSL and found this thread very helpful, many thanks to SamF & everyone. One suggestion for you - emphasize "As a rule of thumb, you can expect an additional 2-3dB on top your ADSL2 line attenuation figure when swapping to VDSL." in the top post (eg bold/italics). I had 7dB with ADSL drop to 10dB with VDSL, which looks to be to high for a 17a profile, bummer! Still, 41/10 Mbps is much nicer than 18/1.

yes. likely too high for 17a, however a solid 8b sync for the distance.

Your all good until someone else gets VDSL aswell then look for the 41Mbps to drop down wards everytime someone gets it installed

I went from 48Mb/s progressively down to 35ish due too crosstalk and my other line. Then disconnected it.
Good example of crosstalk.

Yup, seems to follow the same trend every weekend, seems to start from sometime on Friday then ends sometime early Saturday morning, but if I'm unlucky it resyncs and drops to 1down/2up or just drops out completely.

Yup, seems to follow the same trend every weekend, seems to start from sometime on Friday then ends sometime early Saturday morning, but if I'm unlucky it resyncs and drops to 1down/2up or just drops out completely.

if this is becoming that frequent, you could work it into your favour.

get snap to start an exteneded test midday friday, get it to capture as much as possible, get them to hold onto it and record a few more for comparison so they can look for it... then organize for some poor tech to come out on that day..

im still running 5.22.

If it aint broke dont touch it, is the approach im taking since they seem to be upgrading the bootloader to block downgrading again.

over 3 month uptime counts, cant complain there.

6.06, no issues with the firmware since the update, went from 5.22 -> 6.06.

Better VoIP and parental control features / UI were the reason for updating.

7340, I can upgrade / downgrade at any time, the bootloader doesn't seem to be affected.

maybe they dropped the bootloader change now? or limited to the 7390s.. not sure.

just know in the first 6.0s that came out (non beta) it was an issue.
