sidefx: Just curious, what OS\firmware version are most people running on fritzboxen with VDSL? I'm still running 5.22 based on various people having issues and reduced VDSL sync with newer versions, but is this still the case?

im still running 5.22.

If it aint broke dont touch it, is the approach im taking since they seem to be upgrading the bootloader to block downgrading again.

over 3 month uptime counts, cant complain there.

6.06, no issues with the firmware since the update, went from 5.22 -> 6.06.

Better VoIP and parental control features / UI were the reason for updating.

7340, I can upgrade / downgrade at any time, the bootloader doesn't seem to be affected.

maybe they dropped the bootloader change now? or limited to the 7390s.. not sure.

just know in the first 6.0s that came out (non beta) it was an issue.

For the 7340, nothing after 5.22 and before 6.06 worked.

That's good to know. What's changed with the VoIP?

With the VoIP side of things all the FXO ports are already set up, just setup your VoIP account and (optionally) add a specific dial-out number to the FXO port.

With the 5.22 I had to set up each port which meant going through the whole having it ring and such, and that added about 5 - 10 minutes worth of setup time.

Like my awesome stats?
A couple of weeks go by where there are no issues whatsoever and I stupidly think that the problems have gone away.

I've checked everything internally, the modem plugs straight into the chorus cable (with master filter of course) so any past that is chorus property which I can't touch.

Have gotten snap to do another line test (12 hours). Hopefully the issue still exists in the morning and we can get them to rush out so they can finally see it happening for themselves (as this is the big excuse as to why they haven't been able to do anything about it).

The only positive thing about this situation is that my ping is still roughly the same, so as long as I'm the only one using the Internet then I can still game tongue-out

So I got VDSL connected today and my downstream attenuation increased from the 20db I had on ADSL to 23db.  Is that normal...?

The Chorus guy wired a cable directly from the demarc to a new jackpoint next to the modem.  I told him I didn't want any other connections active in the house.

Also, on my Fritzbox  7360 it just shows 'fast' next to latency. I was expecting a numeric value indicating which DLM profile I was currently on?

Yeah it is pretty standard to get a small increase. I went from 3 to 5-6.

absolutely normal, moving from adsl1 to adsl2 you would have seen a slight jump too.

fast infers 1ms, aka DLM-1.

borderline connection there, but sounds like its not too bad. whats your stats and your error rates looking like?

I have updated this thread in awhile, so news for me.. it would seem i am loosing my vdsl connection unfortunately.

Ill certainly be following here throwing in input where due still though.

Pretty much on par with my experience of getting it connected.

My attenuation went from 9dB to 13dB.

And I started on the fast profile and got shifted to 8ms (down)/2ms (up) profile after a day or so.

Have a look at your "Not Remediable Errors (CRC)" you'll soon see if you'll be bumped to a more stable connection (higher latency).

I could be possibly confused with something else, but this is what I've got:
