Upgrade here too. Looks like the same double sync that Jase mentioned.

@hio77

I guess, it seems to be dropping to 12 every now and then, really need to that boardcomm card in there and see what it can do :)

Anyone had any issues with not being able to reconnect after the 998 upgrade? my bro in law who lives over the road hasnt been connected since about 430 this morning (about the same time mine cut over) his line is about 25m longer than mine and hes on an 8b profile.

hes using the audiocodes mp 264 on a spark connection so im wondering if it doesnt support 998, but how would one find that out? Hes not home for the weekend so i might throw my technicolour tg589 in there and see if that works to rule out the connection being the issue.

Getting a new device is no problem for him as hes an alarm technician and deals a bit in in building VDSL systems.

@stevehodge:  That 86mbit attainable looks pretty sweet!

In theory the max situation you can get is attainable throughput = current throughput? I have FRITZ!Box 3390 VDSL2 100/10 and it has chipset Lantiq, but my DSLAM is Broadcom and i get 5mbit lower of my ISP modem. The current throughput isn't the real speed, in a speed test is 5mbit lower, so i get 10mbit lower. The good thing is the attainable of my ISP modem and the FRITZ are the same, but the current is different from attainable and that's my achievement. Help.

pretty sure

current is what the device is actually connected to the cabinet at, this may be limited by the cabinet depending on the line card its connected to
attainable is what the modem thinks it could connect at. this is more an estimate than anything else

speed measured by a speed test will always be slightly lower because there is the need to send replies/acknowledgments to any data/packets sent.

different modems and chipsets do connect at different speeds based on some different factors. its just one of those things

im not sure what your issue is?

im surprised at your upstream considering you are on a 17a profile, and also you have a 6dB SNR which is rather low so that may change and drop your speed a little

My problem is that with Technicolor TG588v i have a a connection of 82 with 78 real, but with FRITZ!Box i have 76 with 72 real. The only way to have the same statistics on my FRITZ is to have a current of 82.

SNR lower the speed, higher the stability?

Attenuation lower near to cabinet, higher far to cabinet? With Technicolor i have 5,1 instead of 8 with FRITZ.

Ild like to see your spectrum.. More details about your line.

Your stats indicate something is iffy there...

The matching chipsets equates for your faster sync rate on the other modem.

lower the SNR lower the stability as the signal is closer to the noise floor meaning it can be degraded more easily. but this equates to more speed. your SNR is lower than the norm at the moment

different modems report different attenuation. my Technicolor reports 5.9 and my netcomm reports 8.3.

something fishy with your up speed

What's strange with my upload speed?
My FRITZ is in max performance tuning right now.

TBH i wouldnt be tweeking any setting at the moment. Let the change to 998 settle in before tweeking

As you are on a 17a profile you should be seeing a lot more upload speed

Okay, first thing i note across both your setups is your appear to be using Annex B rather than A, i would make sure your using the correct type.

onwards to your line itself, You appear to have a very odd profile there. I would look at the first to see if that doesnt fix up your line.

Your DSLAM profile itself is totally not standard, Although you do Appear to be using 998ADE (hard to tell due to the large gap in your upstream however i wouldnt expect a tap that large that far up in the specturm..)

Do not mess with the settings in the firtz, have them at normal in the GUI. The only modification the GUI allows you to make is making it more "Stable" which is essentially snr tweaking for stablilty, thus loosing speed.

Your line attenuation, Totally depends on where the modem calculates it.

6/9dB snr on 17a 998ADE is not a standard chorus DLM profile that i know of too.

I don't understand.

My ISP limits the upload to 10.

Okay, lets take a step back here...

Who is your isp?
