Based off the fact that your snrs are above where they should be and where your capping, Your on a Ikanos linecard.

998 profile on this card is capped to 70/30, Which your right on maxing out.

Very nice line.

I have no idea what you've said, but yes it's a nice line and good bump for upload speed
We have the cabinet right outside our house.

Now, if someone that holds power-that-be could 'accidentally' change the profile to unlock the 100 mbps down..

it's an even bigger ask, as they have to change you to a different line card which seem to be much less common. (apparently mostly common in rural, but they still appear in cities)

nothing to do with a profile, its a physical piece of hardware

I stream from sky?, it saturates the upstream quite a bit when watching it though the mikrotik so am gonna try it out and see how it goes.

Something's wrong if you are saturating your upstream when streaming from Sky.

maxing my 40/10 VDSL connection on a download im lucky to hit 800kbps (100KB/s) on the upload, streaming might use a little more but should saturate

back when adsl had 128kbit upload it was a huge issue with downloads requiring acknowledging multiple packets in one go, where often they could come in bursts.. but now connections are faster acking multiple packets at once is the norm, and for normal tcp transfers you should be able to do 50/1 etc. just doing a test right now, it's about 58 mbit down, 870 kbit up..

i think the difference should be reasonably linear, so at 20 megabit it should be under 300 kbit...

with 7616 adsl1 you kind of needed to use telecom and get the 192kbit to download at full speed consistently.

Yeh the skys working just tested it now.

Did a speed test too. So in Beach Haven Auckland. Went from 17/3.5 to 22/2.3

Which is about the same upstream and a doubling of downstream. Really wish that line would do better but Im not risking the $150 for a rude chorus tech to come and do nothing like the ex flatmate had happen.

An insignifigant increase that is within what I have had before depending on what time of day I rebooted the router, they are all about 8.5 db SNR now so I am assuming that it got worse as more people came online so if I reboot now it would drop.

Seems my cabinet has changed to 998 (Glen eden area, Auckland).

I just got VDSL2 connected and finished the training period (17a, was syncing at 61Mbit, 10 up (obtainable of 53) 6.3db attenuation, DMT-0 no interleaving) but I guess this'll reset that process again.

interesting enough the upstream isn't getting near the sync rate however.
