richms:$150 for a rude chorus tech to come and do nothing like the ex flatmate had happen.

Lovely generalisation.

Its what happened, No generalization at all.

Was your flatmate rude to the Chorus tech?

No, the guy was saying that the line could never have gone any faster and all sorts of other crap. Refused to get up the pole and look at the joins which had been the problem on previous lousy performance and was just an arse.

DensitY: [snip]

interesting enough the upstream isn't getting near the sync rate however.

We still have to make a small change to support the higher rates on our side of things. Those changes are very likely to be rolled out progressively over the next week or so.

Until then however, enjoy your 65/11 :-) I wish I had that!

Cheers - N

Looks like Bayview, North Shore, has been upgraded in the last 48 hours. Tested tonight on Apple TV (which is Ethernet connected) and getting 45/10. When VDSL was first connected I was advised my line could support 36/10 maximum, and normally got 28-32/9. Ping is a bit worse but I assume there will be a settling in period? Very happy with 45 as a download speed.

Yup... another Bayview resident here... Can confirm the speeds are up.
However, my broadband behavior does feel different in the sense that I gained roughly 20ms in latency from an online gaming point of view... A few days back, I could not sync at more than 50Mbs, now my sync speeds are as follow :

My download sessions don't seem to be going faster than in the past though, so I am not sure if VF has done some throttling / rate limiting implemented to prevent the spike in network traffic on their network as more of their customer base are moved over to the new profile.

Maybe there is a new settling in period / training period the VDSL line has to go through again... from past posts I recall something about VDSL needs to go through DLM monitoring the first few initial weeks... not sure if that's relevant now ?

Not complaining though... the line stats don't lie

Touché

I also spoke too soon! Must have happened yesterday/last night. Gone from 30/10 to 45/9.8.  Happy to take that slight drop in upload for that gain in download!

So does your profile re-set after the upgrade?
