littleheaven: So does your profile re-set after the upgrade?
Pornolio:
My download sessions don't seem to be going faster than in the past though, so I am not sure if VF has done some throttling / rate limiting implemented to prevent the spike in network traffic on their network as more of their customer base are moved over to the new profile.
Talkiet: We still have to make a small change to support the higher rates on our side of things. Those changes are very likely to be rolled out progressively over the next week or so.

@Talkiet in relation to that comment, the 998 upgrades have been in progress for about a month now, why is it taking so long?
Talkiet: Well... There are thousands of isams and the change is being carefully managed. But you'd have to ask chorus really... It's their platform.

your comment says WE which i took to mean spark. and the rest of your comment still makes it seem like spark needs to do something to enable user to get speed tests matching their sync speeds
i understand chorus' side of things but your comment sure does make it sound like spark has to do things too

Some isp's need to make a change at their end as well on their BRAS's. If the isp hasn't got there end ready it just means that speeds would stay the same once chorus changes the vdsl port config. The newer 998 speeds would kick in when the isp makes the relevant changes and the customer would need to reboot their router.
Jase2985: my point was if the above is the case and the ISP needs to change things why has it not be done already?

Jase2985: im just curious as to why your (sparks) upgrades are taking so long, 998 has been rolled out for about about a month now, and has been in the testing phase since July, and been on the cards for over a year.
would have thought it would have been something that was done prior to 998 being rolled out for everyone
