I certainly would be. And if not, then photos of all the steps + finished equipment would be nice. :)

Hey

Here's a letter I got from Chorus regarding ROW connection. The 15m rule applies to the grey pillar infront of your house to your ETP External Telephone point. The issue is to get from the street fibre down the ROW to the Grey pillar. That is not currently covered and being worked though apparently.

Here's my letter I received along with a consent section which I had to sign and return. my concern is that if one of the people in the ROW doesn't sign it, it won't get done. In my situation it's my driveway they have to cut though to get to a shared pillar. But imagine having a neighbour who doesn't want their draiveway dug up....

Thanks for that. I live in the first house on a ROW which has street frontage so I cannot see why they cannot install for me alone and leave other people till they want to install Fibre. Trouble is Orcon dont seem to want to know.

Back in June I got a call from Vodafone. I had been selected for the UFB trial. They would install the line to the house, provide all the hardware and set it all up for free. And give me 200gb a month, a phone line and free international calling. All this for free, for the period of the trial (to 31 August) After which I can go onto a UFB plan "only if I chose to - no obligation". I had to take a 10minute survey at the end of the trial.

I thought it was Christmas. To good I thought.

I got all the contracts signed and returned and got an email saying that Chorus would install it to the house on 4/7/12 - starting at 7.30am.

I took the day off work and was up sparrows waiting.

No show. At 9.30 I rang the 0800 help number, and got a voice message saying "you have reached the fibre trial help line, leave a message"

I contacted Vodafone and eventually got some sense..... short story. I am do a ROW.

Now that was all explained when they offered it to me. And lengthy conversations were had and the guy explained they would have to get consent from the neighbours. I spoke to the neighbours and none of them had a problem. So when the 4th rolled around I assumed consent had been got. Wrong!!

Apparently there was an "admin" error and consent has not been obtained.

Currently, I have sent an email to Vodafone asking for a copy, which I intend to take to the neighbours. It's been over a week.

So to the person above that posted the consent letter - Please post a bigger version. I will take this to the neighbours and send it to Vodafone.

Interestingly, it has all been about consent. Not about the cost (which may well be a convenient excuse).

Does anyone have a copy of the consent letter they can upload. Thanks
