gareth41: well im using ubiquity gear to get ufb to my new place in massey from daytona road. sure beats having adsl2+ which is the only one available at my new address according to the chorus sat and still no indication for ufb. slight increase in latency by a few ms but speedtest.net results roughly more or less the same as if i was plugged directly in. Im on the 10/30 plan.

Just finished doing a site test yesterday to do the same thing, and also planning on using Ubiquity to do the same. What distance are you running over, good line of sight etc?

Just over 1km, I copied a large file directly over the wifi link to a pc at other end and got around 7.5mbytes/s

we are 4 k from the nearest primary school - they have UFB there- is there anyway of getting chorus to connect our sub division --we have 11 large lifestyle blocks in the sub division- currently apparently ours is not scheduled to have UFB at all - we are just out of cambridge.

In a nutshell, no.

If you're not covered by UFB your solutions are rural RBI DSL or RBI wireless.

Nothing stopping anybody from deploying their own solutions, you don't need Chorus for that.

In a similar position so have used a couple of Ubiquiti radios to connect between my work and home and now can offer high speed broadband to my neighbours if they want it, currently just on our VDSL connection until UFB is installed next month.
