JoshWright: I think that NZ has done very well in rolling out fibre to cities and towns, but there is room for improvement for those who will likely never get fibre. I'm still on ADSL1 not far from Hamilton, and no-one from Chorus seems to know if that'll ever change. I'm just super jealous of those who have a UFB connection going down their street.
You are certainly not alone being on a conklin. But the issue is with remote broadband really they should be charged at a higher rate due to the cost to service them. That way the upgrading of those remote locations could be funded by the extra revenue brought in from those customers. That would be the more fair approach however it's not the case and the more densely populated areas fund the less populated areas.
