As for Fibre, yes indeed that is Rural Fibre running passed you to the School. There was always meant to be the opportunity for Rural folk to get Fibre from these links, the only announcement I've seen recently was Schools able to provide Wireless to their neighbourhood (which won't help you of course). When I get back to the office next week I'll look into where that product is at and if I can comment publicly about it I will.

That's great news, I appreciate it. We are looking to upgrade to fibre as soon as possible so whatever news you have to get the ball rolling is good news.

As mentioned a few times on here contact Snap. They're working through a few of these at present and I believe are the only ISP at present involved with this offering.

Hi Brett, Thank you for contacting Chorus. The RBI map that you provided below does not indicate that fibre is ‘available’ for your address. Please note that the fibre cable you see does not have sufficient spare fibre capacity in it to be able to service customers along the route. In addition, even if there was capacity, there is not a suitable access point into this cable that is sufficiently close enough to this property that it could be used for such local use. Unfortunately you are outside the Chorus coverage area for planned network upgrade. While Chorus is continually extending the reach of fixed line broadband, the significant additional investment costs involved in deploying new broadband infrastructure to some harder-to-reach areas makes the economics very challenging. The government may consider expanding the coverage areas of Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) and the Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI) in the future. If you’d like your address to be considered in any future expansion of the broadband networks you can register your interest here: http://register.broadband.govt.nz/register-your-interest This will also give the Ministry of Business, Innovations and Employment an indication of likely demand in your area. Damn, guess I'll have to wait until 2020 when they finish the fibre rollout. Wonder how much an access point costs to build ?

Further to this, I've been advised internally for any further requests, end users can email ruralbroadband @ chorus.co.nz for RBI Fibre feasibility (what’s available) and costings.
