MadEngineer:
Anyone going to the Mum? Would be a good opportunity to ask them when they're going to release a SOHO format router suitable for gigabit NAT
750Gr3 has been out for some time and is fine for such a use. It will still get bogged down if you're trying complex stuff though.
The issue is more than fasttrack/fastpath improves CPU performance significantly, but limits some functionality. It's been a problem for 4-5 years now that many of the CPU's Mikrotik are using are simply not as fast as they should be using.
Has Commerce commission found a replacement for trunet?
kyhwana2: Where's the truenet replacements report for March?
Is it bad that I laughed when I saw this post?

Sorry, should've mentioned this:
"Our contract negotiations with a preferred provider for the programme are taking slightly longer than anticipated. We will keep you posted when we’ve got more to say."

Bit amusing pulling the pin on a working solution only to have nothing to replace it with
Seven Sharp just did a story about the Comcom looking for 3000 people with NZ's worst broadband, I'm guessing this is what is replacing truenet?
I'm guessing they will find their 3000 quickly, the site won't load for me at the moment.
I watched that, and I took painkillers which are needed to watch Seven Sharp. I believe that BB in NZ is one of the best in the world, yet laypeople who saw that program will know its rubbish, a word used repeatedly.
It seems that ComCom has no ability to talk to RSP's to see how things really are?
Damn! I did it again. Thought I was first in with the news but someone sent me here. The site crash didn't last long, which is promising. I got in and they let me register. Whether it will go any further is another matter.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos

Imagine the cops throw out all their radar guns. Instead, they pull random people over and ask have you been speeding. No? Well then, go on your merry way.
I'd expect a competent regulator to do independent testing to make sure things are actually working properly instead of just taking the word of the operators at face value.
Interesting outcome
1.
The new testing company is the only other testing company in the world with real-world experience at testing, ie they were the dominant player. They under cut TrueNet in price to get the business, driving their only competitor out of business
2.
The new tester is UK based and the data goes directly offshore. They are not subject to NZ privacy laws so they will not look at the data as it passes through? hehe
