1024kb: Heh, I do love a good geek argument.

Peeps who know & generally respect each other yet have never met, getting all snappy like crocodiles over an easily fixable problem at someone else's house.

A good, entertaining read - better than watching telly!

Basic rules is to pull an ethernet cable for anything that are not mobile devices. Especially for tv/stream boxes, desktops or even laptops that you've docked or connected to an external monitor at a set location.

Pull a cable and terminate it with a jack on each end (or patch panel at the centralized location). Then all you need is a shorter cable to connect from that jack to your device and that cable/jack setup will last you for many years to come.
