the product can be free from issues but the device connected to it might not be, how do you prove that.

 

huge grey area because to the layman what they get should be able to do gigabit, so then surely you could expect that over wifi.... see where that leads

Probably veering a bit far OT, but I agree - it's by no means straightforward and a lot of it is managing expectations around wifi when there is no actual fault.
