MrPrimo:

I was shown this by a forum user, so I am just popping in to add my 2c to this, Primo does not do any CG-NAT at all, never has either, every customer gets their own IPv4 address, and they can be made static if if you want for $5 per month on a residential plan, or the static is free on a business plan.

It may be worthwhile adding that positive information to the Help ^ Support and FAQs webpage on the Primo website. Not many people may care in percentage terms but those who do are more likely to recommend to others. Information for fibre BYO routers like vlan tagging requirements, DHCP and/or PPPoE support plus MTU in the FAQ should be useful too.

There are a couple of broken links in the Primo Home Phone section of the the Help ^ Residential Fibre page.

Thanks for that, I’ve passed onto appropriate team member and he is looking at the broken links, etc now.

@heretohelp If its a particular game you are wanting low pings on, let us know the IP of the server and we can all give you response times from our ISP's then you can see how much of a difference it is across the routes etc.

Thing is at the end of the day, if Primo or one of their routes changes, are you going to jump ship again.

Thanks for this.

It is a particular gaming server yes.
Ping is not a huge issue for the game I play. I can coupe with up to 260MS ping past that the server does not load your profile correctly most of the time.
So even if it flucuates between 150 - 250 I am happy but 2Dgrs it is 300 - 400 ms all the time.
Edit : as mentioned using globalping.io i can see other ISP's don't have the route issues. Also I have had other ISP's do tests for me and also friends it just seems to be 2dgrees at this point.
I think the tipping point is that they bought out My republic and I was never really 100% happy after that.
I see 2dgrees have removed their server from globalping.io after I created my ticket to 2dgrees about the issue.

I pulled the trigger today, Will be moving to primo mostly because they are local to my area and I have had some dealings with them through clients in the past.

Helpdesk was relatively quick to get back to me when I was asking about specific pings, smaller helpdesks generally are a bit more dynamic and won't try to give you a generic BS answer so will see how I go with Primo.

Was just funny how 2dgs pulled their server from globalping after I brought the ping issue I had to their attention.

Hu? did i do that?
16Mb (EDO RAM), K6-II processor, 2Mb of onboard graphics. 32k dial up modem. 12 speed CD ROM. 5¼-inch floppy drive. 500Mb HDD.

I run a globalping (as well as a RIPE Atlas) probe. They're run by the community, not neccessary by the ISP themselves.

I know Vetta (Quic) have their own deployed on their network as well as a metric tonne run by their customers due to their tech-savvy userbase.

It's more likely whoever was running this globalping probe has simply changed ISP 😊
