The big problem is that as the in-laws are in Ramarama they are unable to get any form of broadband unless they spring for satellite so at the moment they are saved from my undies show. They can't even watch it delayed on youtube! ;-)

show them how to video call with vodafone best mate :P

i think with telecoms new network and with all the companies saying they are going to hspa+ then sometime in the future we should see a drop in the cost of mobile broadband. i would like to see it like it is in oz 40$ a mnth for 3gb but that would be a few years away or maybe when 2degrees turn on there 3g.

being stuck in the wops (1.5 km from the southern motorway) they can't get 3g cell, adsl or compass wireless. They are stuck with Standard phone lines... 2g calling does work though so bestmate is an option.

Back on topic I think NZ is ideal for 100% wireless as a real option. Small widespread population. How about Kordia, Vodafone and others being able to bid for landline replacements and get some of the local line supply funding that everyone pays telecom every year.

the problem at the mo for vodafone at the mo is they still have to pay telecom for there link back to there switch. they are slowly moving to vector fibre so only time will tell.
