Jase2985: that would have been the smart way to do things, roll out UFB to those who couldnt get VDSL. But thats a whole nother thread

They did it right by the cabinet here, and left those of us on long runs from it with barely VDSL to suffer for 4 more years.

Sadly, until recently i was one of these people (DSL1) and the cost benefit of adding fibre to my town was not there. They can upgrade a 10,000 people in AKL for the same cost as 500 people in rural NZ. They have spent their money wisely and with this band plan change those of us with VDSL mostly have increased DL speeds which is a good stop gap.

Hopefully UFB2 will give me fibre....fingers crossed!

My rates have dropped a little, probably as things are fine tuned....  now on 66/11. Still a good improvement on the down rate :)

Jase2985: they should be putting all those on 17a profiles onto the boardcomm cards :P

Yeah, ive contacted Chorus about swapping my Ikanos card for a Broadcom, and they've said theyre focusing on UFB so won't be adjusting VDSL equipment. I'm losing 30% of my attainable sync because of the 70Mbit limit on this card

Just open the cabinet and take a look, they usually leave a key under the big rock behind the cabinet.

Pretty happy!

Speedtest before was approx 39/9

Current is ~ 61/12

Not the best time of the day to be testing though, so I'll have more concrete results tomorrow.

Only downside is the higher ping (7 to 14), although I hope this comes back down a bit.

Logged in to that Pharmacy with the flash connection... got quite a shock when I saw the rates....

Haven't been on site to actual test this but pretty dam impressive!! We were going to order UFB for this customer but being in a big MDU the hassle is just not worth it considering these rates.

Looks like an ISP's view of a line's stats rather than a customer's to me. :)

I'm sorry, is that cheating? :)

I'm slightly west of Auckland CBD on 200/200 UFB. That connection is smallish town middle North Island, close to a cabinet.

Ild question your statement of having over 10mbit before 998...

Based off your previous posts of your line stats, Have you possibly confused Your Attainable with your Actual rate here? Attainable are simply a attempted calculation..
