mattwnz:I would have thought that if a provider has redundant equipment on your property, and say you are wanting to repaint or reclad your house, you an get them in to remove it. Not sure on the laws around this, but if it is going to cause an inconvenience to you, then you should see what they can do. I can see the old cable network being a problem with this type of thing in the future, as people move to UFB fibre, as there are cables still attached to powerlines all over the place in Wellington, and it will cost a lot to remove them, and their upkeep overtime being exposed on poles won't be insignificant.

The last time I looked at the law it said that you may not touch the network on the carrier side of the customer demarcation point with out authorisation even when it is on your property.
