Other than point 2 which I can only make the assumption is ironic.

I was merely making some observations about @tdgeek's post, mainly inspired by his mention of Sky News, which is the Aussie version of Fox News and has rightly been raked over the coals for some pretty despicable racist content. I found it a little upsetting that he was presenting that as an example of 'Australian News', which it is not. If it is still the same as it was a few years ago, it is another Murdoch propaganda mouthpiece spewing opinionated bile dressed up as political commentary.

While I was about it I added a few digs about Sky's constant promos and pointed out the availability from non-Sky sources of some other features he mentioned. But I don't regard these points as biggies. That is reserved for the racism.

Not sure why you think my point 2 is ironic. I have made many posts over the years about issues relating to streaming and networking, but I can't think of any that specifically had to do with Geo-unblocking, other than my advocacy of it. If you care to cite any specific examples of issues related to "bypasses of geoblocks and assorted devices" I will be happy to address your concerns.

You were the one who brought up geo-blocking, not me. If you don't know if it is relevant, why mention it? You sound a bit confused.

I think that confusion extends to your perception of my complaints, as you describe them. I have no idea where you get that from, or why you are counting, or how you arrive at an ' almost weekly' frequency, or why we are even having this discussion. If you find my posts on any matter such a mess, just ignore them. No-one is asking for your feedback. I certainly am not.

TBH I have no issue with Sky News AU. Fox is rubbish, CNN is good although equally biased but not excessive. When I watch Sky news AU if there is an event on, all I see is news bring reported, I dont see any percieved bias, I cant speak for what it was like in the past

Maybe they learned from experience after New Zealand banned them because of the Christchurch coverage, Melbourne banned them from the railway stations for giving comfort to extremists and they had to sack one of their presenters after nationwide backlash for inviting a notorious extremist on air.

Apparently they're going to "focus" on the 50-60% of households in UFB areas that aren't connected to the fibre network yet.

Sell them a bundle and hope that not so tech savy punters conflate the two products and see both as the same essential spend item every month rather than a discretionary "luxury" Pay TV item?

Also give it five years and they can claim satellite is an uneconomic distribution method, threaten to close it down and use the resultant fuss to try and extract money from the Government to maintain a service for rural users?

To be honest, hang around here long enough you'll come to realize that the word Sky on these forums does attract a fair bit of irrationality usually from people who have never or no longer even have Sky.

Bundling stuff together makes sense.

Spark is doing it already with their "Entertainment" pack where you get Fibre broadband PLUS Lightbox & Netflix.

Vodafone are doing it with their Vodafone TV Packages

Both of those are broadband providers who have expanded into providing entertainment.

Nothing says it can't go the other way :-)

I guess all of them are looking for something like the Triple play

I'm picking some people will pick it up for convenience. And others won't touch it with a 10 foot barge pole :-)

Maybe something like Sky Broadband or Sky Fibre. Its just a business venture, those two suggestions seem fine.

There was talk of a trial to stream TV into homes using fibre - it was a separate feed from the ONT, and was separate to the internet. I never heard the conclusion. Wonder if it is anything alone those lines.

It is a logical move - many ISP's have moved into providing content, so why would a content provider take it lying down and not push back the other way?
