Hi all, here are pictures of the new Type 210 ONT. Its the same as the type 500 except for the 10G port.

I'll have you know there's 6 key differences!

Well, the LED's and labeling on the front are the opposite way around.

That's gotta be a support nightmare right there, since no-one will be able to read those labels when these are installed.

To be fair, not many people will have both installed.

After some waiting our install is scheduled for this week.

I had originally placed the order for 920/500 because I thought it would happen a bit sooner and there would be a further wait for the wall mount XGS-PON (Hyperfibre) ONT.

So I emailed Chorus and asked if we could switch the order to Hyperfibre and just get the whole thing done now.

Turns out the wall mount Hyperfibre ONT has not been released yet and is experiencing some issues.

So we will all need a bit more patience.

Release date is the 10th of November but this does not mean if you order after that date you will get the type 210 as stocks of the old ONT will still be used. My one has been running for a few weeks without any issues.

Does anyone know how the rollout of the new ONT is going? Is the newer one the default one now or are they still using up stock of the Nokia?

Due to a high failure rate with the Nokia ONTs, they are exclusively installing the new ONT for new HF connections.

Interesting, I wasn't aware the Nokia hyperfibre ONT had an overall high failure rate.    Makes me wonder if that means I'll get the Zyxel model if my current one dies (not that it's shown any signs of issues so far).
