codyc1515: You'll find that my Vodafone 3G connection is very, very fast (sarcasm).
Although, I'll admit, it is normally quite good:

"Unleash" is a Data centre / ISP (We provide ADSL too) - and that's where I work.

jtbthatsme: mikenzb I'm actually in Lower Hutt and can get cable if i wanted but I find Telstraclear (even though very good) are way overpriced and there data caps are rubbish too.

In saying that you can cheat on the cable plans so can get more data for cheaper.

Ultimately though I like having my 75gig offpeak so can't see me changing to any other ISP or plans in the near future.

Eh. I would of joined telstaclear but those 25gb data blocks etc.. it just doesnt agree with me

A bit off topic, but... 25GB blocks? This must be on ADSL? On cable modem blocks are automatically added at 2GB increments.

As for the "data caps" are rubbish" comment, interesting. I am on a 120GB plan and I don't think this is "rubbish"...

Ah Well theres No Cable Here So Your Lucky.

The current ADSL2+ upgrade including cabinets is still not complete, some areas that are to be upgraded will not see it till late next year.

I live in Lower Hutt and seem to be part of a large area here which won't get the benefits of ADSL2+ speeds, as there are many cabinets here not currently scheduled to be upgraded and are also too far from the exchange. Supossedly I'm currently on ADSL2+.

I guess the 20% has to be someone, but I'm surprised my area is included given it's in a relatively high denisity urban area.

Actually, I was surprised that it wasn't uploading faster - some tests from other points on the WAN seem to indicate that it's a constraint on the speedtest server itself - which makes me feel better.

My home connection, sadly, is a mere fraction of this.
