Wow Shouldnt You Be On ADSL2+ By Now???
I Got My Adsl2+ In 2008

Probably should be ..
I think December 2010 is the last month/when it's all meant to be finished too lol, could be wrong tho

Wow. Does That Exchange/Cabinet get any Vdsl2 any time soon?

There is my exchange for example. Things don't get done overnight especially for the whole country!

Looks like i be waiting for another year to be able to get 23 megs..... Even then i still to far for VDSL2+ :(

Wow. Thats A Good Soeed

That's not counted :P

Going from 1 server on the APE to another server on the APE :P - It's like doing a speedtest on Ethernet.
Note, when I did it I could have done a speedtest to Snap on the CHiX which would have maxed out my ethernet to my office. The best way to evaluate speed is to go from the North Island to either Palmy or Wellington.

Since there's no "other" speedtest in the South Island I just did one to Palmy.

That one was done on a local network, it was done in NZ - but that's nowhere near the speed that they will achieve outside of that datacentre.

It's like if I did a speedtest from work to Snap (in Christchurch) - It runs over a 1gbit Fibre Link known as the CHiX so it will max out the ethernet.

#justsaying.

I am on TCL cable in Chch. Haven't checked if flatmates are doing anything intensive at the moment:

And here is what I get going overseas:

At peak times in the evening, LA can dip as low as 4.5/1.2

We're plenty happy with it, especially now that youtube works again. MS & Apple updates & itunes come down around 1.8MiB/s i.e. practically 15Mbps. As for upload, before I got a laptop I used to VNC home to my old iMac from university at 1920x1200 and it was painless.

My parents, however only get 0.3Mbit from Palmerston North to LA and same to Auckland (or so i'm told) on xnet adsl. They're on a FS/128k and the Maxwells Line exchange is due for ADSL2+ in Dec 2010. At 0.3Mbps, I hardly think the bottleneck is their line... I'm going up there for 6 weeks at the end of the year, not sure if my sanity will be joining me. Last time I was there it took 5mins to load a 30second youtube video and an hour to download a graphics driver.

No phone line, just via wireless dish on the roof.
