Well I suppose I could swap them around and try a different one there, but it seems unlikly as it is an APC and not a dynamix or some other junk brand.

restarted and its back on 12 but now I only have a 21600 downstream.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's unlikely that the UPS is faulty, but considering you have similar symptoms to someone else who had power issues, it's worth a try (& free!).

So an update on my situation here. I have had a multitude of line tests and they are all saying there is an issue it's just no one can figure out what it is.

So far I have rerun a Solid Core cat5e direct to the ETP and then to Fritz, this upped my Sync rate considerably but didnt resolve the errors.
Tech has been out and tested all the copper and can't find any issues. He got me changed to another Card in the Exchange/Cabinet? but still have the same errors.

We have tried a test Fritz but its the same.

I replaced a power strip and it seemed to resolve a bunch of issues but now I wonder if its just part of what I found below....

The only bizzare thing is this, sometimes after a power off of the Fritz and upon turning it back on the errors are almost non existent and can stay like this until another rest of the modem(not 100% sure if its only powering off or actually disconnecting the DSL then reconnecting it). Now if it was some kind of power issue you would think it would happen all the time. I tried turning off a large number of fuses in the house as well as trying different extensions.....

So basically i'm looking to see if anyone has any others ideas on anything that else could be tried or might be the cause. Happy to also look at paying to get someone in but not really sure who and what they would try differently from what has already been done....

Pretty much as it sounds.

Sometimes I can reboot the fritz and when the DSL reconnects it has almost no errors(FEC errors go down to hundreds instead of hundreds of thousands) and will stay like that until a power cycle again.....It has done this on both fritz units I have.

I'm going to try this again tonight and then I can post some screenshots, it only happens sometimes.

Did they try moving you to the second pair? We've seen a case before where the copper apparently tested ok but switching to the other pair fixed the issue.

Do just the FEC errors change or do the CRCs change as well?

No they didn't try changing to the second pair yet, that's the only thing that hasn't been done.

I've hooked the test modem up again after the port change and this is what I'm now getting, this is basically what I was saying can happen sometimes even with the other Fritz Box.....

Maybe it's a combination of both a faulty Fritz and Port....guess I will see how the test modem goes again, if the errors return(which they normally don't until a power cycle) then I guess maybe changing the copper pair is about all that's left.

Hmm, interesting! Your attenuation dropped by 2db as well!

Just a thought; is your new Cat5e cable running from the ETP directly to the line socket on the Fritz, or does it go to a jack point and then from there to the Fritz?

Also, when the modem is in the 'good' state, what's the longest time you've left it like this?

Yea I noticed the attenuation drop as well.

The cat5e cable was running to a jack which had the same errors, currently it just has a RJ socket directly on the cat5e with a short phone cable(1m) running to the Fritz. I've tried a bunch of different phone cables just to be sure, and tbh if it was the jack or socket you would expect it to happen continuously. I also don't have a crimping tool

I think about 48 hours is the longest it's been left.

Currently the Test Fritz is a 7340, my one is a 7390. Since the port change I cant get the 7390 to go to the current state(low errors) but the test one will.The tech when he came out did say they moved me to a card that was known to have no issues, the one I was on before did have some faulty ports on it so wonder if it is a combination of fritz and port issues.

Been speaking to SNAP again today, I'm going to power cycle the test modem again when I get home and see if it comes back up the same or if I can get it to replicate the errors before the port change.

Just got connected like 10 minutes ago. Chorus was late to the connecting house party. Big thanks to Sam and Chris for sorting my connection out.

Here are some stats. It will get better I am told as DLM takes few days to kick in and downstream will hopefully reach up to 32000kbps.
