Yea or by changing your INP.

Your SNRM looks consistent.

This is mine

Oh, can you change INP via config hacking? Also, what would this achieve & what would the down-sides be?

Good news everybody (said like Dr Farnsworth off Futurama, lol).

I modded my house wiring and gained around 4Mbps in sync speed and went from DLM-6 to DLM-2.

Nice!! Looking good! Will be interesting to see your CRC errors over time.

Sam, you can change the INP in the LineSettings tab.
if you move it towards stability i think it adds a max of 4 INP. Should lower your Errors due to lower bitrate.

Have not played with that setting much.

Hmm, I guess that might restrict DLM, but that's a matter of debate at the moment I suppose...

Nope, not a thing. Might try a resync tonight.

Any ideas how INP works?

Well, I forced a resync tonight - total uptime 10 days 19hrs! I'm now on DLM-2 with bitswap on. So it looks like I should have been re-synced earlier but for whatever reason that didn't happen.

Anyway, that's some progress and one for the notes; if you think you're overdue for a DLM profile change, try a manual resync! :D

Oh nice, Good to see that it works that way as well. I am coming up to the 7 days trigger tonight so will see if my profile changes back to DLM-1

By the way i have got a fair idea about how INP works but ill try and find a link somewhere with more info.

Hey guys, here's two things that I find interesting:

In this shot you can see that the attainable throughput is higher than the max DSLAM throughput:

And there was an automatic resync at 4am, which now results in errors.  However the DLM settings appear not to have changed (from the pic above).

I may force a resync this evening, to see if the errors disappear again.  Perhaps the shift in SNR dB suggests something???

You may have moved from DLM-4 to DLM-2. It seems you don't see the 1 INP value set on DLM-4.

Though this may be due to a specific firmware on the Fritzbox.

By the way don't worry about the errors to much, that is hardly anything and shouldn't affect throughput or packet loss.

SKYMAX: Has your sync rate changed? I found that my errors increased significantly with only a 1mbit sync rate increase.

I was on DLM-4 until last night and it showed INP of 1.0. However, I am running firmware v99.05.22, so maybe that's the difference.

What I'd like to know is what error threshold DLM considers 'unstable'!

You can compare my snapshot above with the 3rd post of this page.
The sync speed went up marginally.
