I wonder if this is able to be bypassed using some kind of TR-064 method?

It's been a day since getting a 'port refresh' done by my ISP Maxnet, DLM has changed my profile at least 3 times already, maybe more and for the first time I'm now getting my full upload speed of 10mbps. For 8 months it's been stuck at 6.6 or 7 mbps. I've lost a little download speed in the process but 50mbps is fast enough :)

Here are the line analyzer graphs from just before the port refresh, I might get new graphs to compare the difference now that DLM has worked it's magic.

I'm expecting to see much better/smoother colour bands with less variation as the line before seemed very 'noisy' as depicted below.

Would be interesting if one of you with a very clean line could get the same graphs for comparison.

Wow nice bitloading there, nice line!

(My bitloading and SNR graphs are posted earlier in the thread, nowhere near as good as your line though)

so iv been toying with how it all goes together, essentially it works like upnp except on a different port to what is commonly used.

as a side note, nice little tool i have come across while looking into it all

http://home.exetel.com.au/amurgshere/upnpmonitor.phtml

worth a bit of a play, update frequency on continuous is amazing for showing slight bursts, but anything short of normal interval seems to fall to zeros breaking the graph...

same guy also makes as more overall monitoring program, anyone who commonly uses something like speccy to check things out might prefer it. http://home.exetel.com.au/amurgshere/hwmonitor.phtml

Nice work hio77!! Pity none of those tools allow you to gather stats other than current upload/download rates.

it doesnt autodetect the methods for getting anything other than basic WAN link information.. it tells me my modulation is adsl G.lite so not everything quite lines up

I just cannot get up to the next level (17a?)....I've been connected for 5 weeks now, current stats are....

What could be the problem?

I guess asking how much longer I need to wait is like how long is a piece of string :)

so, woke up today to find DLM-1 once again.. unfortunately, i haven't had a chance to do the wiring yet.. and the error rate doesnt look too delightful..

gonna try the turning off for 5 mins trick when the internets not being used.. see if it helps..

@surfisup1000: Yup, pretty much, we have no idea what the full criteria or timeframe is for 17a. Your line is pristine tho, my guess is that you'll be on 17a soon enough!

@hio77: Hmm, yeah, a tad high. Why not increase your SNRM a couple of notches while you're at it, just to tide you over and stay on DLM-1 until you get your wiring sorted? From what I've experienced, the more you drop off DLM-1 the longer it takes to get back on it again...

actually took less time since i was on it last to get down.. first week or so DLM seemed rather slow to change..

might end up moving from here in a few months.. still trying to get contact with the landlord, unfortunately simple attempts to even get a number to call falls on deaf ears :/

does tweaking your INP and RFI have much effect on the line at all?

as a side note, seems my connection is very inconsistent today.. hopefully a reboot will deal with that while its at it..

Huh, weird.

We haven't been able to prove that the RFI setting yields any measurable results as yet. I wouldn't touch INP as this might force you off DLM-1.

reason i ask, the frtiz came with everything at max performance, so i left it there. wasnt sure if it would have some sort of odd effect on CRC rates..

Well, 'max performance' really means 'change nothing'. Any movement towards 'max stability' will artificially increase the normal error prevention measures.

SNR increased (again). Zero errors so far, but ive lost about 2-3 megabit of sync. I'm willing to sacrifice sync for latency however.

Requested a DLM reset with snap. And a 24 hour line monitor.

Hmm, I'd be careful about doing a DLM reset with an SNRM tweak, we don't know how this will affect the DLM process.
