JamesL: Haha, glad I'm not alone in celebrating such triumphs or commiserating the loss

Yeah, to be fair I signed up on Saturday. I messaged them on Facebook this evening just to follow up as I haven't heard anything other than the automated welcome message

took just over a week for me, would have been processed and set in place that day, but i had to confirm some information from a flatmate.. after that, the device needed to be configured, i asked if they couldn't just send it and ild do it myself, but it was already underway.. modem arrived an hour before the connection changed over. so can't really argue there..

after that the excitement of waiting for DLM to start working hits.

if only DLM-2 also had 1ms latency ;)

I'll be using a Zyxel so they don't even need to configure a modem for me :|

Although I'll probably will switch to the fritzbox at some point as it looks more gui friendly

unlike your general isp sold modem.. it doesn't suck.. the graphs on it are just amazing.. how many modems do you know of that report their temperatures  power usage and cpu load.. without getting into a more high end one..

all the chats in here are based around the fritz, so it just made sense to run with one, i certainly don't regret it.

Yeah I know, it's just a time/money thing at the moment. Changed jobs and the gap between pay is 2 months D:

I didn't want to take the 24 month contract to pick the fritz ip for $50 so will just wait till I get paid before picking up the fritz, makes sense given nearly everyone here has one

Was put onto DLM1 again but error rates are too high and dropped back to DLM2

Can you request to stay on DLM2 or will the DLM keep trying DLM1 when it thinks my line is stable enough.

That looks great. Do you think it's worth pulling out the hourly error numbers? They are pretty easy to grab from the statistics html page.

Last night from snap:

Hi James

Quick email to let you know your VDSL transition is coming across tomorrow afternoon, any problems let me know.

Cheers!

Hopefully when I get home I can plug in the Zyxel and be away, after I configure it first to reduce resyncs

Nice!  So how did you achieve that?  Also, can you output it in a CSV format?

Not AFAIK, Maybe do some SNRM tweaks to up your connect speed (& your errors)?  Wow, that's the first time I've advised anyone to INCREASE their error rate! :D

Post your DSL page again?

Error rate is still low.

But the graph doesn't match up. Every time i've looked the count on the page above is decimals and single digits.
Shouldn't be seeing 500 per hour on the graph?

Yes there is something very strange going on. You've had only 54 seconds with errors since your last sync at 5pm yesterday so the 0.07 CRC/min looks about right, but it doesn't correspond to the statistics tab at all. Your FEC errors do seem high but we don't think that has any bearing on DLM and we've seen some odd (and much higher) numbers in the past.

You're on INP 1.0 which is interesting as in the past it seems that hasn't been correctly reported by the Fritz. What firmware are you on (System->Firmware Update will tell you)? Latency of 8ms and INP 1.0 means you're on DLM-4 and I do think it's not great to have any errors at all on DLM-4.

capturing error rate history is what im looking at next (or well started work on it before i thought, its 4am.. should probably nap..), looking at bitgraphs, snr graps etc too!

dumping to any format would easily be possible.

its a mixture of XML parsing, and HTML parsing where the data isnt sent in xml..

as for DLM-1 so far, its still staying half expected DLM to bounce me all the way back again last night.. sitting on a CRCPM of 11.13 right now.. down from the average of 11.65 so its improving...

So have you got around the SID issue?

Wow, DLM-1 at 11 CRCPM! Impressive! I wonder if it will keep you there?
