I wired my house with CAT6.

I bought a roll of stranded CAT6 cable and plugs to make my own socket-to-device patch cables. I'm giving up because A) the CAT6 is still way to stiff, mainly because of the plastic divider spine thing (the name escapes me), and B) looks like I cant get a crimper for under $80 that works properly.

So where do you guys buy your pre-made cables? I want good price and quality. I want CAT6, but I have some questions about that:

As I mentioned, I was having problems with CAT6 being too inflexible, even though it was the stranded type I was trying to use for patch cables. It was putting excessive strain on sockets, and even leading to connectivity issues as the plug was being held at an unusual angle/twisted. I've seen 'CAT6' without the spine, but I wasn't sure if this was legit - I thought that divider was part of the CAT6 spec. I've also seen flat 'CAT6', and I thought twisted pairs were also in CAT6 spec. Are these actually CAT6 cables?

Are there any true CAT6 patch cables that aren't unreasonably stiff, or should I just go for CAT5E?

Proper factory made CAT6 patch leads are OK and not as stiff as the cable rolls stuff. They are bit stiffer than CAT5e patch cables though.
It's never a good idea to make you own patch leads, CAT5e or CAT6, as you can buy them so cheap anyway and then you know they are certified to the correct spec.
Cablesdirect.co.nz is probably the best place.

Yeah, I know. I just thought I could keep some wiring cleaner if I could make all my leads exactly the required length.

Also, nowhere seems to have sub-0.5m cables.
