Hi Guys ,
I have a real strange problem I have a ATI Sapphire 6870 Card running two 20" Dell Monitors with my desktop being expanded I have updated the drivers on to the lastest ones from aTI 12.4 but I have lost my Catalyst Control Center it just freezes when it tries to load I have tried multiple roll backs on the software and still dont have any luck .Under the new drivers ,CCC has stopped working and I have a dead spot between my monitors .... ie around 50-100mm from when my cursor leaves the right hand monitor and moves to the left hand monitor Im also missing shortcuts etc now as well .

when I tried to roll back I uninstall all the AMD/ATI software clean the reg and then reboot then re-install older drivers etc and still the CCC doesnt work Im have lost two days trying to sort this out with heaps of google searches im now on the verge of taking to my GFX card with a sledge hammer and going back to nivdia { I dont really want to } can anyone please help ?

have windows released a patch lately that as issues ??
I have read the ATI 12.4 Drivers have issues but even trying to roll back isnt helping still dont have CCC

cheers
Andrew

You could try the 12.6 beta (http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst126beta.aspx) but it sounds like something is conflicting with the driver - have you installed any new software recently?

Hi Kevin to my knowledge the only thing I have updated next to ATI drivers is I updated malware and ran it only to find it removed a file that my Firefox was using so I had to reinstall firefox , Thanks for the link Im very loathed to try there new drivers given the state my system is in now it may just add more worms to the can that is currently open ..haha strange thing is I cant seem to get older ATI software { drivers and CCC} to work so when I uninstall everything something is being left behind or the new drivers have corrupted something that no matter what version of ATI drivers/software I use the problem is still there .Im seriously at my witts end

cheers
Andrew

have you tried one of the driver cleaners that get rid of all ATI leftovers that may be corrupting the new drivers.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Thanks for the link no I havent tried that software Im not keen to purchase more software that might not work ....to add to this I have noticed in my display settings  that there is a huge gap between my monitors under the display resolution settings I can drag one monitor to touch the other one but it wont save that setting Im picking this is part of my problem with the gap issue ...could my GFX card have developed a fault ?
