I'm in the market for a new monitor, the most likely suspect at this stage is looking to be the Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM

This is _mostly_ going to be a gaming system but it will have a bit of "work" performed on it. 16:9 seems to be a more common aspect ratio these days, and at 23" it's a practical screen size to watch TV/movies on without the black bars that'd be there on a 16:10 screen, although the extra 120 pixels of a 1920x1200 versus 1920x1080 isn't necessarily a bad thing, as I'm coming from a 19", 16:10 1440x900 screen, it'll be an improvement regardless though.

Any other recommendations in the $300-$400-ish price range? (Or a bit more if the screen warrants it)

A displayport connector would be a plus but not a deal maker/breaker.
