If you have just changed the case then it's certainly not the drivers. If you have changed motherboard, then you should look for the original CD and install the drivers from that disc.

If you have a NForce (NVIDIA)-based motherboard, then you can also download the drivers on-line. The same for other brands, but you have to look for the manufacturer's website.

By the way, before doing anything, check you have plugged the cables correctly...

The volume is set to default - or you mean the output device is using the built-in sound card as default? Check this...

Does your motherboard have onboard sound as well as connectors for audio on the front of your case? Are you using the green connector off the motherboard itself or a front mounted socket? If you are using a front socket did you check the pinout was correct? Also if you have changed the output there will probably be a jumper that needs to be set to choose between the 2 output outs.

Hi there Thugness, have you looked in the device manger to see where the problem is coming from the icon should be yellow where the problem is coming from. If it is the sound then right click it and go to properties and find the tab that says update driver. Browse your docs to find the sound driver, Make sure you get the right one for your mother board. Hope this helps
