Hi all,
Not sure how to phrase the thread topic to best portray the situation but here it goes:
I recently purchased a XFX branded nVidia nForce 630i-based motherboard with onboard Geforce 7100 graphics. It comes with HDMI, VGA, and DVI. As I understand, the HDMI also carries audio, and this was one of the drawing point for this board for use in a HTPC - which is what I intended to use it for.
Anyway, I assembled it with a E6600 processor, 2GB RAM, a 320GB hard disk, and installed Vista Ultimate on it. Everything installed fine, until I connected the it to my Samsung LCD TV via HDMI. The system recognised the TV as Samsung, and knows it when I plug/unplug the HDMI cable that connected the two. The TV too knows when the cable is plugged/unplugged... but that's about all. When the HDMI cable is connected, the configuration on the computer changes so that it displays via HDMI rather than VGA/DVI, but the TV doesn't get the signal at all and gives a error message: "No Signal" as opposed to "Check Signal Cable" when the cable is unplugged.
I've also tried installed Windows XP, but to no avail.
If anyone knows of anything else that might have caused this problem, please let me know so I can try and see if it works. I've tried various configurations, i.e. changing the refresh rate, etc. but it still doesn't work.
I am going to RMA (bought from Playtech) it tomorrow if it really is fault.
I extend my gratitude in advance for any assistance.
