I set my computer monitor too high for my monitor.
I dont know what i should do.
Here is some things that should clear up a few doubts about my problem.
When the 15 sec alert came up i could not see it caus the screen resolution changed.
I cannot enter into safe mode because the opening bios is in this new screen resolution.
The crt is not blown because the power light is still flashing and also i have connected it with my lcd and it does not work as well.
I think i can get a new monitor but it will be very expensive i am also not sure about the setting which i have chosen. I think i have chosen 1900X1200 but i am not certain.
Thanks all help will be greatly appreciated.
I am also wondering if there is some bootable last known good setting device i can use.

The warning resets the resolution to the previous setting if you don't click OK, so it should have gone right back.

Have you got a seperate video card installed and/or do you have one lying around?

It sounds like you may have done somthing else as opposed to adjusting the resolution.

For one, you state you have hooked up a LCD and still cannot see anything. So unless it is a small and old LCD then one of your monitors should work.

Secondly you should still see the BIOS post screen, and therefore will be able to see the windows safe mode screen.

As Tony has said;
    the 15 seconds will have timed out a reverted to normal unless you pressed a key.
    do you have second graphics card you can try on your machine?
    did you unlock resolutions which your monitor/GPU does not support?


Are you sure you have not adjusted any other settings?

No i highly doubt i put it into a resolution my computer cannot handle. I have a sli 6600gt set up in that system. The only other graphics card i have is a 9800GTX.
Also i am sure that is the only setting i have changed. And yes i do have a old and small lcd. Samsung 710N 17 inch.
Ans my motherboard is Asus A8n-SLI deluxe. The opening bios i cannot see on both my monitors.

Put your other gfx card in and boot... you should get a safe graphics mode...

When i take out 2 6600gts out and put in my 9800gtx it will work. But i will have to put my 6600gts back in there than what should i do before this ?

Boot with other gfx card.
Set your res to 1024x768.
Reboot.
Shutdown.
Put old card back in.
Boot.
Update drivers.
Set res to required level.
Stop screwing around with your resolution.

Should do it.

Lol. Thanks. I just saw something on the internet which looks a lot easier but i have one doubt.
It says put in windows cp cd than go into restore mode. Will i be able to see this menu?
Also I have an sli config. What wud happen if i just removed one card ?

Sorry thanks for the help so far. I did some thing really really really stupid. I connected my cable to wrong card in my sli config. I Can now see the bios but the resolution setting is still not visible on my monitor.
What should i do ? lol
I dont want to go last good setting because i am afraid that it will change a few of my settings.

Ive never tried this but generally in nvidia help menus and manuals it says if anything was to go wrong with settings then u hold the left CTRL key during the booting of windows and its supposed to reset to defaults.... hope it helps if you havent sorted it already

If the resolution setting in Windows XP is to blame... then Safe Mode's Enable VGA mode should work fine.

Yeah i cliked on enable vga mode. Nothing seems to happen. ill try the ctrl button thing now,

Its sli. And my only other gpu is 30cm long.
But i think thats the only option i have now unless i do restore old settings.
And the control button did not work
