I have a NAS set as one of my backup destinations. The NAS powers down the drives to save power when not in use.

I have noticed that Crashplan won't wake the NAS, it just says "backup destination unavailable" and does nothing.

Crashplan is running on an iMac and the NAS is a Seagate.

Is there a way to get CP to wake the NAS?

I would suggest don't let the drives sleep. I ran a power meter on my Synology NAS the daily power draw was lower than I expected so didn't make sense to power down the drives.

Also i'm of the opinion, that the general opinion is not to let drives spin down in a NAS, the drives will last longer. i.e. Drives stopping and starting is harder on the drives, than the drives constantly spinning. Especially when you have drives like WD Reds designed to run in a NAS.
