I'm putting more storage into my home computer, and also replacing my old DVD-RW drive with a Blu-Ray drive.

Because the additional HDDs are using all of my PSUs SATA power cables, I will only have molex connecters left for the Blu-Ray drive.

Do most modern optical drives work without the 3.3V orange wire?

EDIT: I may have found my answer for my particular drive. Specs for the drive I have ordered say "Power: DC+5V ±5%,DC+12V ±10 %". Based on that I assume it only uses the red, yellow, and ground wires. Hopefully I am understanding it correctly!
