I know how to do that. I mean that on that link it has all things i have tryed, so if some 1 posts the same suggestion it wont waste my time or yours.

Just buy a new one. You can get a decent one for around $40 these days. Not worth the effort you're going to.

But to the OP...   Ive had drives in the past do things like that, just bought a new drive.  Give the old one to a friend and see if they have any luck.

Yes when you can get a new dvd-rw with dual layer, in the colour you want and sata/ide for around $30 its hardly woth the effort of diagnosing too hard.
