Hi,

I am wanting to know help and assitance in the easiest way to use a

Dell™ Dimension™ 2400 Series desktop as a media centre based pc , for storeage or my media to play on my tv

tv has 2 x hdmi ports , s video and standard video in etc via rca

I'm unsure , to get a pci tv card , if I do this by what method do I connect it to my televison etc
I also know dicksmiths do a tv to pc type box for around $100.00 but not sure if this will work or how it connects
as currently there is no s video output on the desktop pc ..

Help please to advise , links appreciated what is the best option ..

Note ( I am upping the ram also to 1 gig ) if this makes a diff to what pci / tv card I get ) if this option

What type of TV do you have? Does it not have a VGA input?

Those TV's aren't too good.

Whatever you do to get TV out you either need to buy a VGA -> composite adapter or a new video card that has DVI/HDMI or s-video TV out. From memory (having read other posts) those TV's don't handle PC support well via HDMI but if you read your manual or contact Uniden they should be able to tell you what resoltions it would support.

S-video or component output is a worse case solution and will deliver a very average picture quality.
