Hello,

I'm about to build my own pc and not too sure about one thing. I was looking for this motherboard ASUS P5K SE INTEL P35 LGA775 ATX 1333FSB ICH9 PENTIUM D & CORE 2. It has 1 x PCI-E x16; 3 x PCI-E x1; 2 x PCI. Also i had a look at NVIDIA GEFORCE 9600GT 512MB PCIE HDCP DUAL OUTPUT and seems like they will go well together but then at the more closer look I've noticed that nvidia requires PCI-E 2.0 x16. So my question: Is PCI-E x16 the same thing as PCI-E 2.0 x16 or not? In case if they are not the same will I notice any difference while playing games?

INTEL CORE 2 DUO E7200 2.53GHZ 3M 1066FSB LGA775

CORSAIR 450W VX-450 ATX POWER SUPPLY 120MM FAN

HYNIX 2GB DDR2 800 PC6400 DIMM MEMORY

ICUTE ZL02-3G-BB BLACK CASE NO PSU

it will round up around NZ$580-600 all together.

PCIE 1.x bandwidth is 250 MB/s
PCIE 2.0 bandwidth is 500 MB/s

It's very similar to the difference between the old AGP 4x and 8x.

I think the 9600 GT will work perfectly fine on the Intel P35 chipset and you will not see any significant difference in performance as a low end card like the 9600 GT won't come near 500 MB/s

Also what is the purpose of this system? If it's gaming it looks a little underspec'd for new games imo.

it is a low budget gaming pc ) for games like wow and rf-online ) mostly used for photoshop and java/perl dev. pretty sure it will be enough for both purposes.
