Saw this question on Hacker News today, so decided to check... "How many passwords do you have?"

Here is my current number:

Also, someone mentioned to me "x personal, z work" so I am thinking of personal accounts - anyone with access to external clients' account could get this number into thousands...

272 Personal accounts and 51 corporate accounts. I use folder in Bitwarden to separate personal and business accounts.

1,084. Though I have some still in KeePass I haven't moved over yet. Most of the passwords are unique, BitWarden features are helping me find and remove duplicates. I removed some duplicates last week, including closing some accounts I don't use any more.

Dozens. I have different password for very website and they are all impossible to remember.

I keep a cryptic physical record of one password in a hard-to-find place. If I ever lose access to my password manager, that's my way back in.

Too obvious. Capitalise the P and change that a to an "@" and noone will ever crack it.

450ish, but that has lots of admin/admin and other stuff saved for defaults that have been changed. really should clean it out.

1029 stored, lots of those are duplicates to different sub-domains with the same account or the ten different routers I've had over the years that all used 192.168.86.1.

I think it's well worth having a six-monthly cull. Every account is a weak point just waiting for a data breach. I tend to delete accounts I'm not using quite actively and change passwords on accounts without 2FA at least once per year.

I've seriously thought about changing the email address I use for non-2FA logins at the same time. With gmail it's easy enough to delete an address and get a new one with google to keep the changes rolling.
