Im interested to see what programs people are listening to their music to on there pc as i am after one for myself.

Ive tryed using wmp, itunes and foobar but none of them seemed to do it for me. Im looking for one that is easy enough use, not too big.

What do you use/sujest and why?

I use iTunes on my Apple Macbook personal computer under Leopard.

Easy sync with my music player of choice, easy user interface, a bunch of features I use all the time, and very few that I don't.

Winamp at home and Zinf at work. Zinf is nice and small and has the nice option of being able to save streaming stuff as well.

Indeed I use iTunes simply because it's become easier than the alternatives.. everything syncs nicely with my iPhone this way.

Prior to this I used Windows Media Player (and I actually rather liked it). Alternatively if you're looking for something less mainstream then Songbird is well worth looking at too.

I was vivid WinAMP user for ages, then Windows Media Player even up to 11 (Vista) - due to Windows Mobile and Portable Media Centre devices - then when we got iPods, we jumped ship and just use iTunes from then on... the ecosystem of iTunes and iPod just work... and since iTunes store is in NZ, buying songs are just so much easier now...

Foobar.. With the right skins / plugins its brilliant.. Used to use winamp - found it rather terrible in comparison..

Try songbird - Still early but found it quite good with some cool options

Been using winamp for almost 10 years i think. Mostly at work. At home use a media center and/or squeeze center for streaming.

Ditto for MediaMonkey. Syncs OK with Ipods and other MP3 players. Portable version as well.
No vote for Itunes - used it once, and it totally mashed up the tags. Downloaded all sorts of wrong covers and track identification. Seemed to me that I had no control over what iTunes did. That's my experience, other people use it no probs at all. I sort of feel Apple has too much control over the media on my computer.

in terms of bad software, WMP I find really bad, mangles your album art and replaces it with 200x200 versions 9crap if you have a pvr with large images)

I love winamp :) preferably the old versions! But then I have simple requirements, prefer minimised one that docks at the top, dont like "playlists" or music libraries prefer to play straight out of a directory with songs arranged alphabetically.

I've been trying songbird and it isnt bad.

+1 for mediamonkey

esp. when you have 20gb+ of mp3's... its library is the best Ive found for sorting them all and finding what you want to play easily...

Doing your best is much more important than being the best.
