I downloaded the BF-BC 2 beta (Took 3 days on my capped net), I tried to extract it using Winrar and it has said it has an unexpected end of archive. So I went to Winrar repair, and I managed to get all but 2 files out, and they are quite large files, one is 800mb the other is 180mb.

I'm trying to start extracting them, and just before it says corrupt file, I pause the extraction, go to Temp files, and copy what has been extracted, and I am going to put the files into the BitTorrent folder and get the torrent for it, and then check it, and it should download what has been missing. I hope.

Now, I was wondering if there was a way to just extract the file and even though it's a bit corrupt still have the file there, with a few MB missing, which I can try to install or do the BitTorrent trick I said up there ^^

Or do any of you have any other method I can do to try to fix this?

I've tired a few "MAGICAL ZIP FIXERUPERER!!!" programs, but they are crap..

Bump.

/Sigh.

Surely someone will know what to do.

Is there a way to extract what is not corrupt from the battlefield data? Surely there has to be a way, because there would only be a few megabytes corrupt.

It depends on where the corruption is. And how do you know that there would only a few megabytes corrupt?

In all honesty, it will need to be downloaded again - or dare I suggest checking to see if the data is also legally available via a peer-to-peer network (as I understand that downloads multiple, small portions of the original large file ... complete with error checking?)

Alternatively - have you seen the beta on a magazine cover DVD?

I assume that the download is a legal download ... (I have no idea myself)
