Hey,

It started about 4 days ago.

My computer just started freezing.

What is does is freeze for around 2-5 seconds.

Sometimes while gaming im able to move my keyboard, and not my mouse, While other times i can't move either.

But when im surfing the net, it just stops my mouse. And it also makes a noise, Like a beep kind of.

Virus Scanning now. But I have already and they picked up nothing.

Intel i5
Sapp 5850
Asus P7P55
4 Gig Ram

Please ask for any info. It will be provided :D (Mostly :) )

For starters I would check your hard drive. Have a look in the System event log for any "disk" errors.

Then check the rest of the event logs for any errors and report them back here.

It could be hardware, or software. The event logs will show up some of both

Right click on taskbar and bring up taskmanager
Click on the processes tab.
Try sorting by CPU usage and monitor this during the freezes... what process does it report as using the most CPU (and how much?)

What OS are you running?

Windows 7. I will try that in the morning.

Im running windows 7, And when i run Events Viewer, Where should i be looking for Disk Errors?

Heres some more info on the noise i hear.

The noise is like a noise when something completes, kind of, While other times it make the noise when something starts, And then resumes and hangs 2 seconds after and makes a noise when something completes.

If the computer is hung and you can hear the disk doing the same repetitive noises...

ie: click click whirr.... click click whirr

Then yes, that could indicate a hard drive issue. The sounds being heard could be the hard drive trying to continually read or write to a bad part of the disk.

The only sound i can pick out which is abnormal is the sound is plays over my headset.

Its like the noise when something completes, And when something starts.

So like, The starting noise will happen, Then my mouse freezes, It unfreezes and then completeing noise occurs then freezes and resumes again. The only thing that normally freezes is my mouse.

I Unplugged the mouse and tried several others.

When i unpluged the mouse the first time none worked.

I repluged the oringal and now that dosn't work either.

It detects and the mouse has its light on. But the mouse dosnt move.
